The Ecclesiastes Project was formed to give simple, practical advice to those who wish to be obedient to the Word of YHWH. Such obedience can be difficult in the face of peer and societal pressures to conform to the world, rather than be set-apart; therefore the Project offers encouragement and help to those who are seeking practical applications of the Word of HaShem.
The guiding principle of the Ecclesiastes Project is simply that all true believers are to exhort, encourage, and instruct other believers (1 Thessalonians 5:14-22). We believe that YHWH commands such behavior from true believers, as He spoke to the prophet Ezekiel:
18 “When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked man will die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.
19 “Yet if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered yourself.
20 “Again, when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I place an obstacle before him, he will die; since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand.
21 “However, if you have warned the righteous man that the righteous should not sin and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; and you have delivered yourself” (Ezekiel 3:18-21).
The Ecclesiastes Project is founded on six Biblical truths:
- Obedience to the Word of YHWH is LIFE (Jeremiah 38:20)
- The purpose of life is to fear YHWH and keep His commandments (Ecclesiastes 12:13)
- Yeshua HaMeshiach will make all things new when He triumphantly returns (Revelation 21:5)
- YHWH is sovereignly in control of all things, whether we see His handiwork or not (Psalm 115:3)
- We are to be content with the blessings of YHWH (Ecclesiastes 2:24-25)
- True believers should strive always to glorify YHWH, and should never allow the words and/or actions of others to cause them to sin
Lastly, the Ecclesiastes Project believes that the Holy Scriptures speak YHWH’s Truth to all situations, for all generations; and that the blueprint for obedience to YHWH can be found in one verse; Deuteronomy chapter 13, verse 4:
You shall follow YHWH your Elohim and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.
